RIM Seen Unveiling New BlackBerry Next Week

Rumors emerge of an event next Tuesday where RIM could take the wraps off of the Bold 9800, taking the form factor of the venerable BlackBerry line in a new direction.

Just what does Research In Motion have up its sleeve? The company is already known to be developing a new BlackBerry, the Bold 9800. And rumors have now begun to spill out that it is holding an event next week that could very well involve a product launch.

Whatever RIM is planning, analysts say that it needs to spruce up the BlackBerry's user interface to keep pace with Apple's iPhone and the emerging crop of Android smartphones. Enterprise Mobile Today takes a look.


Is Research In Motion set to unveil a new BlackBerry next week? Yes, according to a Reuters report that said the mobile device maker plans to hold an event in New York next Tuesday that will feature a new BlackBerry the company hopes will keep it from losing more customers to Apple's iPhone and Android devices.

RIM (NASDAQ: RIMM) has not confirmed that it will be releasing anything next week. A spokesperson for the company said it doesn't comment on rumors and speculation.
